We want to use World Drowning Day on July 25th to draw attention to the importance of water safety.
Arizona is the top state in the nation for drowning deaths.
In the first months of 2023, Arizona has already had:
- 18 deaths from drowning incidents: 6 pediatrics (0-5 years) and 11 adults (18 years+)
- 39 water-related incidents
- 46% of water-related incidents result in death
In 2022, Arizona had:
- 142 water-related incidents
- 60 deaths
