The Importance of AEDs

Staying Alive Offers FREE Inspections
AEDs are an important tool to help people experiencing sudden cardiac arrest. While very sophisticated and powerful, the equipment is easy to use. AEDs frequently save lives while waiting on EMTs to arrive.
Deanna recently visited a 55+ community for training. While she was there, the group mentioned that they had 6 AEDs on the property. Great news!
However, no one knew how to use the equipment! They had recently found the sixth AED when they were tracking down a beeping noise that they finally located in “a red bag.” Yes, the battery was low and needed attention.
When Deanna inspected the 6 AEDs, she discovered that only 1 of them was actually functional. She also helped the staff locate the AEDs in better locations so they would be within closer proximity to regular gathering places.
Deanna was able to order replacement batteries, pads or other parts to make all 6 AEDs work properly. Before leaving the facility, she arranged training on how to use the equipment for the board and community members.
The inspection and consultation was done at no cost to the community! Call Deanna today to schedule your equipment inspection.
