National Pet Day on April 11th

By Staying Alive Leave a Comment

“Our perfect companions
never have fewer than four feet.”
Colette

National Pet Day started in 2006 in the US but it has spread quickly around the world. Colleen Paige, an animal welfare advocate, wanted to celebrate the joy pets bring to us. In addition, Colleen wanted to spotlight the pets waiting in shelters for adoption. A recent estimate is that 6.5 million animals go into shelters nationwide. Only 1.6 million find their forever homes.

So take some time on April 11th to share some love with your BFF whether cat, dog, bird, reptile or little porker!

Considering adoption or fostering?
Visit the Arizona Humane Society website. They found fur-ever homes for 13, 327 animals
in the past year! They have lots of opportunities for you to have an impact. They will bring their “Cuddle Bunch” to your gathering or celebration.
