Whether working outside the home, full time inside the home or some mix of both, moms do occasionally need a break. (We hope you give her a special treat on May 8th!)
Often to make that happen, Mom needs a babysitter. It could be a family member, a sibling or a person hired specifically for that job. Moms are looking for qualified, trustworthy, trained help.
One great relief for a mom is a babysitter who has gone out of their way to be trained in CPR and First Aid.
Staying Alive covers CPR and first aid in their Child and Babysitting Class but goes way behind the basics with practical training. For example, does the babysitter understand what is really an emergency and who to call FIRST in an emergency.
Problem? Contact? Emergency? – Contact First?
Child throwing up – ??? Child with blue lips – 911
Child with stomach ache – parents Child with blood somewhere – ???
We recommend the class for adults, teens and pre-teens who want to be responsible, respected babysitters.
