Sometimes people are afraid to help during an emergency because they are afraid they’ll do the wrong thing or injure the person. Yes, ribs can be cracked during CPR.

#1 Keep your CPR and First Aid Training up to date. Having the knowledge right at your finger tips gives you confidence and makes it more likely that you’ll do the right things as needed. Even Guardian Angels need refresher courses!!  Staying Alive recommends that you update your training at least every 2 years.

#2 Know the law!  Here is an excellent recap by HSI covering the Good Samaritan Laws to understand your responsibilities and your rights.
